A call for one financial contribution towards fieldwork at the CNR’s Dirigibile Italia Arctic Station, reserved for outstanding students enrolled in the second year of the master’s degree in Environmental Analysis and Management (code 5900) — international Water & Coastal Management (WACOMA) curriculum and Environmental Analysis and Management (AGA) curriculum, taught in Ravenna — dedicated to the memory of Cecilia Bellezza.
The research took place at the CNR’s Dirigibile Italia Arctic Station in Ny-Ålesund (Svalbard) for roughly ten days in 2025, carried out with the CNR and supervised by Prof. Roberta Guerra.
Dirigibile Italia is a multidisciplinary CNR research station supporting numerous national and international projects. Opened in 1997, it sits in the village of Ny-Ålesund (78°55′ N, 11°56′ E) on the island of Spitsbergen, in the Svalbard archipelago — the departure point of General Umberto Nobile’s 1928 polar expedition, after which the station is named. It is managed by the Institute of Polar Sciences.
The station covers 323 m², 170 of which are laboratories and offices, and can host up to seven people. It is open all year round.
