Graduation ceremony in memory of Cecilia Bellezza
Friday 25 October 2024, 3 p.m. — Casa Matha, Piazza Andrea Costa 3, Ravenna.
The ceremony was held in memory of Cecilia Bellezza, a student who died prematurely in May 2024. Enrolled in the master’s degree in Water and Coastal Management at the Ravenna Campus, she was about to complete her studies with a thesis on an environmental topic.
In her memory, her family and friends founded Associazione Cecilia Bellezza ETS to support young graduates, awarding scholarships to the most deserving among them.
The first contribution funded a scholarship covering part of the costs of a research stay at the CNR’s Dirigibile Italia Arctic Station in Ny-Ålesund (Svalbard, Norway) in 2025.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Vice-Rector Prof. Simona Tondelli, the Rector’s Delegate for Students Prof. Federico Condello, the Director of the Department of Biological, Geological and Environmental Sciences Prof. Elena Fabbri, the degree programme coordinator Prof. Paola Galletti, and the thesis supervisor Prof. Roberta Guerra. A commemorative parchment was presented to the family.
